ABOUT THE “REDSHIRT” PROGRAM
This program is designed to keep 4th-12th grade students actively training during the school year. It is designed for players
who do not want to commit to the full club volleyball season, but still want to develop volleyball skills through out the school
year in preparation for next years middle school, high school or club season. Club coaches from Westlake Volleyball Club will
run this program. The Program starts in mid October and runs along side the first half of the boys club season (til the end of
January) until further notified, or unless gym time runs in to conflicts. Redshirt participants will always be notified of
any changes well before hand.
Once this is over, participants will have the option to continue on for an additional three months or be placed on a
developmental team that will train for a few months together and then go to two single day club volleyball tournaments in
the spring. This allows players a chance to put the training to the test in a light, but competitive environment and to be
exposed to club volleyball competition. There will be a separate fee for the additional three months of training, as well as
the developmental team(s).
